Binary Trigger For Glock - Shot Show Range Day was a buzz about the microphone left by the Franklin Armory. They unveiled the Glock's binary trigger. Yes, you read that right. The pull/release trigger is designed for use with the Glock. We took a close look at the showroom and shot it at Range Day.

When Franklin Armory came out with their double trigger, it was always a dream to own one for the Glock. Until now it seemed impossible. Engineers at Franklin Armory are doing just that. Life finds a way. The Glock Binary Trigger is called the G-S173.

Franklin Armory will make their own Glock binary trigger for the Glock 17, but it won't be a simple trigger switch. To get the Glock binary trigger, they did some magic with the slide to activate the trigger. So when you buy a Glock Binary, it comes with a slide and trigger. You must provide your own barrel, frame and recoil spring.

You can see that the Glock binary slide is not the same as the standard Glock 17 OEM slide. The slide has cutouts for dealing with magic.

Like their other binary triggers, the Glock Binary Trigger has a selector switch. This is the rotary selector switch on the left side of the slider. Investigate it to find one trigger gun. Flip it down to find the binary mode.

The Franklin Armory had two examples. Below is a nice looking prototype with the optics cut out.

Another example is below. Not sure if they will provide cut optics or not. I hope they do. They explore options with slide cuts.

I also shot it on the day of the grade. I found the trigger to be a little different than what I'm used to. But it works. I also captured the slow motion of the trigger while using binary mode. There are some interesting things I learned about this trap from high speed.

If you watch the animation carefully, you can see the trigger reset in the two-stage release. It moves about half way forward and releases the striker to fire the next round. Once the slide has finished reciprocating, the trigger advances to its final position, where you continue to pull the trigger again for the next shot.

Franklin Armory plans to sell the Glock Binary G-S173 for $899. While some may experience sticker shock, remember that a standard binary trigger is around $300 and an HK binary trigger is $700. This makes the slider an extra $199. You still need to supply your barrel and recoil spring. They are planning a Q2 release date.
