Binary Trigger For Glock 43 - SHOT Show Range Day was a buzz on the Franklin Armory drop-in mic. They featured a Glock binary trigger. Yes, you read that right. A trigger pull/release is designed for use with a Glock. We took a closer look at the display area and captured it on Range Day.
When Franklin Armory came out with their binary trigger, it was always a dream to have one for the Glock. Until now it seemed impossible. Well, the engineers at Franklin Armory did just that. Life finds a way. The Glock trigger binary is called the G-S173.
Binary Trigger For Glock 43
Franklin Armory will make a Glock binary trigger for its Glock 17, but this won't be an easy conversion. In order for the Glock to have a binary trigger, they did some magic with the slide to work with the trigger. So when you buy a Glock binary it comes with a slide and a trigger. You need to provide your own barrel, frame and recoil spring.

You can see that the Glock binary slide is not the same as a regular Glock 17 OEM slide. The slide has cutouts to accommodate the magic.
Like their other binary triggers, the Glock binary trigger has a selector switch. It's a rotary selector switch on the left side of the slide. Turn it upside down for one pull. Download it for free/downloadable binary mode.
Franklin Armory had two prototypes. Below is a nice looking prototype with a statement cut out at the top.
Below is another prototype. They have not yet decided whether to cut the statement or not. I hope they do. They explore the options with slide cuts.

I also shot in one day. I found the trigger to be a bit different than what I'm used to. But it works. I also shot the slow motion of the trigger closely to see how it behaves when in binary mode. There are a few interesting things I quickly learned about this trigger.
If you watch the slow motion footage carefully, you can see the two-stage reset when the trigger is released. It goes halfway forward and the striker is released to fire the next round. Then when the slide is finished reloading, the trigger is pushed back to its final position so you can pull the trigger back again for another shot.
Franklin Armory plans to sell the Glock binary G-S173 for $899. While some may experience stick shock, remember that a regular binary trigger is around $300, while the HK binary trigger is $700. This slide only adds $199. You still need to provide your barrel and recoil spring. They are planning for a Q2 release date. Many trigger upgrades for full size Glock models are readily available. However, figuring out what the best Glock 43 trigger upgrade is is more difficult. This article will cover some of the best upgrades for your Glock 43, from simple DIY solutions to full price kits. The Glock 43 has become a very popular pistol for concealed carry. In fact, I previously reviewed the gun and decided it was an excellent option for those who liked the Glock platform but wanted a very compact pistol. Lots of flexibility on stocks, magazine lengths and incentive upgrades. This allows you to personalize your Glock to suit your individual needs.
My 43 Shoots Binary Randomly And Nothing Was Modified Internally I Used To Love It But It's Not Safe Anymore Any Recommendations?
Let's be honest, the stock Glock trigger isn't very good. They are spongy, and have a very visible wall. Additionally, the Glock 43, compared to larger frame Glocks, has a narrow trigger guard that may annoy some shooters. Obviously, a lighter pull can also help with your overall accuracy.
To better understand what you're really getting into when you buy a trigger kit, you need to understand how the trigger mechanism works. Check out this great video that covers the inner workings of all Glock pistols. You need to understand this to know what parts are important when determining the best Glock upgrades.
This video shows a Glock with OEM parts in action. As you can see, there are several key parts of a Glock trigger that actually affect the amount of friction in the trigger system. This friction, along with the springs in the gun, greatly affects the weight of the trigger pull.
You can replace the springs, but that can cause the gun to not work with things like light front shocks. That's the last thing you want. Also you don't need to change the radiation protection. This brings us to the cheapest, and in some ways, the best trigger upgrade, the 25-inch job.

This is only for people with simple details to remove their Glock. It's not that hard. After all, I managed to do it and put it back together without spare parts! The idea behind the 25 cent Glock job you are referring to is that you are trying to reduce the weight of the trigger pull by cleaning the parts of the trigger system that are connected to each other. It sounds simple, but it can cause a slight headache. Watch the video below to see how to do it.
In the video he manually cleaned the safety shoes and then his tie. It has a background link, which we will talk about later. Then it moves to the trigger bar, clearing those contact points. It completes the trigger job by cleaning the inner tube of the trigger.
Personally, I think this is the best Glock 43 upgrade for those who don't want or are prohibited from installing aftermarket parts on their pistol (military/law enforcement). If you carry a Glock 43 for duty use, this is your best bet. Next, we will discuss the next level of trigger upgrades for the Glock 43
As you saw in the previous video, many companies make trigger components that shorten the pull length or reduce weight from a standard trigger. Ghost inc is a mainstay in the Glock market, and of course, they make the excellent Ghost Edge connector for the Glock 43.

This video shows how to install the Ghost Edge trigger link. It shows with the Glock 42, but it is the same process for the Glock 43 because they are the same pistol in a different caliber. I should point out that some links have a special twist to reduce confusion. In this particular case, it is not a good idea to follow this thread because you will likely add to the overall confusion. Make sure you read the product description.
As with the 25-inch trigger function, changing the binding does not drastically change the weight of the trigger pull. For that you need a whole new one. Let's look at a drop in trigger.
Tyrant makes some great accessories for Glocks, and their Glock 43 I.T.T.S Trigger is one of the best options if you no longer want one of the full systems we're talking about. Their touch is very intuitive for the colors, including the guard. For a really custom look, this would be a great choice to pair with the Ghost Connector above.
The Tyrant also has a 30% force spring installed for very quick reset of the trigger. They have been modified to separate the screws with the stock set screws which can be helpful when you take your pistol apart. If you like to mix and match elements, this is your trigger because it doesn't come with anything other than a real trigger.

If you want a really great flat trigger, the CMC would be on the short list. Complete trigger systems are your best bet to shorten trigger travel, adjust and reduce trigger pull weight. The CMC Drop in trigger replaces the actual trigger and trigger pocket.
At the time of writing this trigger has been ordered back due to high demand. I recommend checking occasionally to see if they are available. These types of trigger systems are very easy to install, but as I mentioned earlier, you need to fine tune your gun. Honestly, all Glock owners should know how to do this. It is not a difficult task.
This type of flat-face trigger can give you a clean break; However, some shooters may find the hook on the bottom of the trigger guard a bit annoying. Hopefully we have more options here, let's see.
